Cricketer Paul Collingwood - an all-rounder who played for Durham and his country - is currently on tour in the Caribbean in a new role as England’s one-day international fielding coach.

While he enjoys some winter warmth, back in Tynedale his amazing home - appropriately called Summerside House - is prepped and ready to welcome would-be buyers.

The impressive stone-built property, which sits on a large plot, has a wealth of stunning features, from the high-quality kitchen and bathroom, orangery and underfloor heating to water features, a putting green and a paddock running down to a burn.

Thrown in palatial bedroom suites, stunning views and beautiful landscaped gardens and it’s clear that this property - created from a range of farm buildings - is really something special.

But perhaps the standout feature of all this splendour is the Australian barbecue room inspired by memories of downtime and relaxation when Paul was abroad, representing his country, as he explained.

“A particular highlight of the gardens is the barbecue room which was inspired by my travels abroad, in particular Australia and South Africa,” he said. “This outdoor room makes the most of the gardens and provides a great place to relax and entertain.”

Since moving to the property, he has enjoyed making further upgrades to an already high-spec house, creating a luxurious yet practical home that is special place to relax.

“Summerside House is in a lovely part of the world surrounded by stunning countryside,” Paul said. “I immediately fell in love with its serenity and how peaceful it is here, with the convenience of not being too remote and the security of having neighbours around.

“Once inside, the layout flows beautifully and the building’s charm and character are balanced with all the luxury and comfort of modern living. The living/dining/kitchen area is a vast open-plan living space extending to 39ft, perfect for everyday life and entertaining alike, with high beamed ceilings and a sociable kitchen.

“In the summer the gardens come into their own. They were designed by Jamie Dunstan, a Gold winner at Chelsea Flower Show, as an extension of the house and provide a very pleasing outlook.

“This really is my dream home, I love absolutely everything about it and wish I could take it with me!”
