THE annual show and sale of hoggs and lambs, held at Hexham Mart, was ably judged by Mr Mike Bell, Cheshire, who went about his job swiftly with a tremendous show of hoggs to judge.

The show was sponsored by Mole Valley Stores, Hexham.

The Champion pen went to M/s D Carr & Son, Highwood, whose pen of Texel x hoggs were expertly brought out by Ben Moralee and David Carr and sold to £260.

The reserve Championship went to the first prize Mules from M/s MW & CM Ridley, Shitlington Hall, bred out of their own home bred Blackface Ewes, turned out to perfection and selling to £270.

The first prize pen of Suffolk’s sold extremely well to a top of £264 for a pen of 10 from M/s G Carins & Partners, Broomhall.

A pen of ten Texel five crop ewes with twin Suffolk x lambs at foot sold to £254 from M/s JS Spours & Son, Yetlington Lane.
