Store Cattle
Hexham & Northern Marts offered a catalogued entry of 606 head of store cattle at their weekly sale which included over 200 native breed cattle for the monthly special sale of such sorts.
The sale was dominated by a tremendous run of older, forward Aberdeen Angus cross bred cattle from Philip Tomlinson, Sunniside, Consett, County Durham which topped the sale at £1340 for a super heifer at 20 months with a bullock brother following at £1330. All within the consignment were by registered Angus sires and saw averages of £1277 and £1266 for 4 heifers and 8 bullocks respectively.
