A TYNEDALE farm has welcomed two new additions, born at the turn of the decade.

The lambs were born around 2am at Grange House Farm in Stamfordham, much to farmer Malcolm Burn’s surprise after he found them on New Year’s Day.

This isn’t the first time Malcolm has had lambs born during the festive season. Twelve years ago he also had several lambs born on Christmas Day.

“We were expecting lambing to begin around January 7 so it was a nice surprise to come down to in the morning,” he said.

“They are absolutely thriving.

“Thanks to the mild conditions we’re having right now, they’ve had plenty of milk to keep them going.”
