AN agricultural supplier has been newly appointed as a dealer for KUHN farm machinery.

Johnston Tractors, which has depots in Carlisle, Dumfries and Appleby, has become official stockists and service support dealers of KUHN’s full range of agricultural machinery for northern England and southern Scotland.

Since 1828, KUHN has specialised in the design and manufacture of tractor-drawn agricultural equipment including soil preparation, seeding, fertilisation, spraying, hay/silage making, baling, wrapping, residue shredding and landscape maintenance.

Johnston Tractors, which was founded in 1962, remains an entirely family-owned business specialising in the sales and support of agricultural and plant machinery.

Managing director of KUHN UK, Sian Pritchard, said: “This long-established company has all the credentials necessary to provide expert sales and aftersales support to KUHN’s customers in this region. We look forward to a partnership with the Johnston Tractors team.”

Managing director of Johnston Tractors, Howard Johnston, said the company was delighted to be appointed as a new business parter for KUHN.

“In an ever-changing world, we see the addition of the KUHN brand to our portfolio as an important strategic move for the future,” he said.

“The farm equipment industry is going through a period of consolidation brought about by merger and acquisition activities of major global brands.

“Our future partnership with KUHN, alongside our other independent franchises, further strengthens the range of mechanisation solutions that we are able to provide to our customers.”
