A LONG-STANDING chartered rural surveyor and farmer has been promoted to associate in recognition of his work with local farmers and rural businesses across the region.

Harry Morshead from Langley has worked under independent land and property agency YoungsRPS since 2013, and during that time completed a masters degree in rural enterprise and land management from Harper Adams.

Harry has gained plenty of hands-on experience growing up on his family farm of Nilston Rigg, and continues to farm to this day on his 180-acre upland, Harsondale Farm, which he took the tenancy of two years ago.

The focus of his new role includes engaging with and providing expertise to farmers from Youngs’ new base at Hexham Mart, and help the company to continue to evolve.

Harry said: “I am delighted to have had my work recognised.

“Since I joined YoungsRPS it has expanded to now offer a wide range of services, but it still remains a down to earth company with local roots.

“We all know that there will be changes ahead, but where there is change there is also opportunity, so I aim to continue guiding our existing customers as well as new customers where I can.”
