Picture from the past
The Shaftoe Young Farmers' junior team, comprised of chairwoman Jane Telfer of Rochester, speakier Roger Foster of East Wharmley, Hexham, and Vivienne Bell of Otterburn, came within two points of winning the National Association of Young Farmers' Clubs speaking competition, held at Stoneleigh in Warwrickshire on october 1983.
