(NORTH APPROACH. WHITEHILL WAY & THE

AVENUE, CHESTER-LE-STREET) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017

The Council proposes in not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffic: 1) a 180m length of North Approach between its junctions with Pelton Fell Road and The Avenue; 2) a 250m length of Whitehill Way that extends from the junction of The Avenue to the junction of Wynyard; and 3) a 45m length of The Avenue that extends southwards fromits junction withNorth Approach by reason of carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from 05/03/17 for 1 week (Phase 1: 3 days, Phase 2: 3 days, Phase 3: 1 day). Alternative route: 1) Easterly and north easterly on North Burns and Pick tree Lane then generally southwards on A167 to Chester Moor Roundabout then northwards to Waldridge Road then easterly to Whitehill Way; and 2 & 3) South easterly on The Avenue and South Approach then westerly on Waldridge Road and northerly/north westerly on Whitehill Way to the south western side of the closure, and vice versa.

(SIDE AND REAR BARN HILL, STANLEY) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017

The Council, on 09/02/17 made an Orderunder Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffic: 1) a 160m length of rear Barn Hill that extends along its entire length from its junction with Barn Hill / rear Station Road; and 2) the turning circle including an 80m length of road from Barn Hill that extends southwards (adjacent no 10 Barn Hill), Stanley to enable carriageway reconstruction including road gully works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from20/02/17 and for the duration ofthe works, anticipated to be 12 weeks. Works will be phased to maintain access to the track leading from the turning circle/mid-point of Barn Hill at all times. Alternative route: via Barn Hill and the eastern side and rear Barn Hill or the road from the Turning circle to middle Barn Hall (whichever is available during each phase of closure).

(STATION VIEW, CHESTER-LE-STREET) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017

The Council, on 09/02/17 made an Orderunder Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffic a 200m length of Station View between its junctions with Fife Avenue and Station Road, Chester-le-Street to enable electricity supply improvement works to be undertaken. The maximumduration ofthe temporary closure under the Orderis 18 months and is required from20/02/17 and for the duration of the works, anticipated to be 4 weeks. Alternative route: from the southern side of the closure from Fife Avenue, easterly to Station Road then northerly to the junctionwith Station View to the northern side ofthe closure, and vice versa.

However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for the above 3 closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.

(FOOTPATH ADJACENT TO A691 FRAMWELGATE

PETH, DURHAM CITY) (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2016

The above-named Order made by the Council on 11 /08/16, under section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and whichbecame operational on 22/08/16 has been continued in force from22/02/17, as approved by the Secretary of State for Transport, until 22/06/17 oruntil completionofthe works, whichever is the earlier. The effect of the Order is to temporarily close to all pedestrian traffic and cyclists a 250m length of footpath extending between the road junctions to the DLI Museum and Durham Station (northern) Car Parks and the access to Diamond Terrace, Durham City. Alternative route: from the northern side of the closure from the footway of A691 crossing to The Garden House PH and following the southern associated footway of A691 Framwelgate Peth under the rail bridge and crossing via the pedestrian crossing at Millburngate Roundabout south of Highgate to the southern side of the closure, and vice versa.

(VARIOUS LOCATIONS) (EASINGTON DISTRICT COXHOE AND DURHAM CITY) (WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER 2006 (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2017

The Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 1, 2 & 4 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to amend the 2006 Order to rectify an administrative discrepancy concerning the road name following the development of the Coxhoe southern bypass. The road is currently described as the A177 and will be amended to read C23: from its junction with the B6291 at the traffic lights at Cornforth Lane / The Avenue junction in Coxhoe, in a southerly direction for approx. 650m to its junction with the A177 Coxhoe southern bypass. This amendment is required to enforce the weight limit currently in place on the C23. A copy ofthe draft Order & supporting documents may be inspected at Bowburn Library & County Hall, Durham during normal working hours and via the Council website.
