NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM (PUBLIC FOOTPATHS NO. 17 CHILTON PARISH, NO. 5 WINDLESTONE PARISH & NO. 78 SPENNYMOOR PARISH) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION
On 21st August 2020 the County Council of Durham confirmed the above order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert Public Footpath No. 17 Chilton Parish & No. 5 Windlestone Parish running from a point north of Rushyford Beck, east of Millwood Farm, proceeding in a generally north-westerly direction across the beck to a point adjacent to Millwood Farm, then north-north-easterly across the beck to a point on the north bank of the Beck north of Millwood Farm onto a line running from the same point north of Rushyford Beck and east of Millwood Farm, proceeding in a north-north-westerly then north-westerly direction, crossing a beck and continuing in a generally north-westerly direction on the north side of Rusfryford Beck to the same point north of Millwood Farm, as shown on the order map. The above order will also modify the Definitive Map and Statement of the Public Rights of Way for County Durham by deleting and adding the footpath described.

The order comes into force as from 21st Day of August but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 of the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 of the Act, within six weeks from 28 August 2020 make an application to the High Court.
