THE Forestry Commission has unveiled a stunning new exhibition of the work of Northumberland farmer’s wife and mother of two Jane Ellis, at 18th century Kielder Castle.
More than 20 pictures by the gifted landscape photographer are being shown throughout April, ranging from woodland vistas to wild seascapes and moody moorland.
Jane, who lives in the Vale of Whittingham, said: “When I'm on my travels I never quite know what kind of picture I’m going to capture.
“Like many photographers I seem to spend endless hours waiting for the light, which is so important, but the results can be very satisfying.
“I’ve called my Kielder show Seeking Tranquillity, using water as a key theme. The setting could hardly be more appropriate.”
Jane took up photography as a child and 14 years ago set up her own business selling her photographs on handmade greeting cards.
She now produces an astonishing 12,000 cards each year, while also selling her work to private buyers.
The exhibition is free and opens daily from 10am to 5pm.
