New CD is afamily affair

NINE months of hard work has paid off for a Haltwhistle man after his second CD has been produced.

Ian Brown, of West Road, has followed his debut album Dancing with Shadows with Rough Around the Edges.

The album contains 11 songs all written and recorded at his home studio in the town.

Ian had the help of his family, as son Matthew designed the artwork and played electric guitar on one song, and daughter Hannah sang back-up vocals on a few tracks.

A particular favourite of the artist is From Carlisle to Aceh, which was inspired by the devastating floods at Carlisle in 2005 coupled with the global disaster of the 2004 Tsunami disaster.

All the songs, however, are not so serious, with Vanity providing a humorous look at the ageing process as it occurs in men.

Ian said: “I would like to think that there is something on the album that touches a chord in most of us.”

Rough Around the Edges is available at GoJo Records, Hexham, and La Toot, Haltwhistle.
