A YEAR has passed since the Haltwhistle Boardwalkers burst on to the district’s amateur dramatics scene.

Just months after being established, the new group wowed audiences in Haltwhistle with three superb performances of Cinderella .

The boardwalkers will return to the stage this weekend with their latest offering of Aladdin .

They will put their own slant on the classic folk tale in the main hall at Haltwhistle Community Campus’s upper school.

And if last year’s debut performance is anything to go by, those in attendance at three scheduled showings, are in for an array of entertainment.

Last summer, the group’s members boarded a colourful Aladdin-themed float at Haltwhistle Carnival.

Since then, they have spent months rehearsing for their latest offering.

Doors open on Friday at 7pm. A matinee performance will take place on Saturday from 1.30pm with another performance at 7pm.

Tickets are available from shops in the town – Birdcage Boutique and Jethro’s Cafe – and will also be available on the door.
