Artists in residence at Shepherds Dene Jenny Mathers, Cathy Duncan and Teresa Toms, and illustrator Kim Lewis, created the work for Stilled Lives after studying items and wildlife found in the 20-acre grounds and outbuildings.
Among the work on display is a study of 100 different species of moth, found near the impressive arts and crafts house, which have been recorded for the Northumberland Moth Survey.
Life-scale drawings of old garden tools were created by Kim, Cathy has produced watercolour paintings and linocuts, Teresa has crafted plaster and wire sculptures and Jenny has made a series of pastel and watercolour paintings.
“My paintings include studies of moth colours and patterns and there are some installations exploring the variety of moths at Shepherds Dene,” explained Jenny, who is also curator there.
The exhibition will be on display until February 28 next year.
