PONTELAND Repertory Society is preparing to present an evening of entertainment, entitled Supper and Songs.

Well-known northern choir The Caprians, which grew out of Gateshead Grammar School, will be topping the bill and performing songs such as When the Boat Comes In and Close the Coal House Door.

Ponteland Rep’s chairman, Richard Davies, was one of the founding members of the choir when it was launched in the early 1950s.

Ponteland Youth Theatre’s own Preppies will be the supporting act, singing hit songs such as Oliver! and Wind In the Willows.

The event will take place on the evening of Saturday, April 16, at St Mary’s Church hall in Ponteland.

Tickets are available from Carole Davies on (01661) 871161 and Janet Walton on (01661) 823433.
