RESIDENTS can try their hand at book making and calligraphy workshops as part of the Wylam Winter Tales community festival.
Children aged five and over, and their families, can learn how to make a book from start to finish at the hands-on workshop tomorrow, Tuesday, February 2, from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
Visitors are also invited to take part in a calligraphy workshop on Thursday, February 4 from 3.30pm to 4.30pm, where they can learn the basics of the age-old writing skill in a group led by Wylam-based arts therapist, Simon Hackett.
The workshop events are free to attend, but must be booked in advance by calling (01661) 852174.
The events are part of the Wylam Winter Tales community festival which runs until Thursday, February 4.
The event aims to bring local people together to celebrate stories, writing, music, performance, crafts and local history at a number of venues in the village.
