SCORING in the final, a Ponteland teenager ended the weekend with a World Rugby winner's medal.

Callum Chick (19), who grew up playing junior rugby at Ponteland Rugby Club, was on the scoresheet as England clinched the World Rugby U20 title with an emphatic 45-21 win over Ireland in the final.

Beaten by New Zealand last year to deny England a third championship in a row, they regained the trophy with Chick's first half try setting them up for the success.

The silverware rounds off a great year for the Newcastle Falcons prospect, who made his first team debut for the Kingston Park side and captained England U20 in the Six Nations clash with Italy in February.
