In a straight final after Darlington Mowden Park II withdrew, it was the Corbridge side’s second string who enjoyed victory with a comprehensive 34-12 victory.
It was the third meeting between the rivals this season, Tynedale edging ahead at 2-1 with two consecutive victories after suffering a humiliating home defeat to Blaydon in the first fixture. The Raiders were looking to complete bragging rights after edging out Blaydon in the second fixture, and they took a 21-0 lead into the half time break in the cup encounter courtesy of tries from Fin Magowan, Adam Todhunter and Rob Parker, who converted all three.
The game, at Blaydon, was a scrappy one though with both sides guilty of multiple unforced errors, many seeing Tynedale fail to capitalise on good try scoring opportunities.
The second half was a much closer affair with Blaydon running in two tries, as did Tynedale as Joe Mills and Micky Hall touched down to make sure the cup was heading to Corbridge.
