TYNEDALE Panthers’ U13 squad proved too strong for the rest of the competition when they took part in the first Alnwick Festival.

With girls’ rugby currently booming across Northumberland, the Tyne girls showed there is a lot of promise emanating from Corbridge as they won all three of their games - scoring a whopping 20 tries and conceding just one!

It is a record year for the U13 side with more numbers than ever, and they started with a five try to one victory over Morpeth as they were able to mix a bit of experience with newcomers to the sport.

That was the only score against them all day and they again ran in five tries as they faced a very athletic and fast Ponteland.

Capping a great afternoon of rugby, they scored 10 tries as they finished with a rout against the newly formed home side.

It was a good weekend for Tynedale’s junior teams with the boys impressing in their match-ups too.

Tynedale Colts, the club’s U18 team,, put in a great display to defeat visitors Peebles Colts 41-29.

Tynedale then enjoyed a double over Egremont when they came into town the following day.

Tynedale U16 enjoyed a 41-31 victory, while their U15 side defeated Egremont’s equivalent 22-8.
