TYNEDALE head for the Black Country on Saturday, anxious to end their run of 17 consecutive away defeats.

They have not won away since October 11 2014, when they crushed Macclesfield 60-24, scoring 10 tries in the process.

Five of them came from Ben Frankland with Sepp Visser getting a couple, and Dan Temm another.

Sadly, none of them are with the club now, making the trip to Stourbridge a tough one, as the Midlanders have one of the best defences in National Two (North).

They have conceded only 182 points in their 10 games - 108 fewer than Tynedale, and they are the only side to have lowered Macclesfield’s colours with a 22-5 victory on the opening day of the season. Subsequently, they have won four, drawn one and lost four, although the defeats all came in very tight games with the losing margin being six points or less on each occasion.

Last Saturday brought an impressive 24-19 win at title-chasers, Sedgley Park, so Tynedale will need to be at their very best.
