TYNEDALE Rugby Club’s leading try scorer for the past two seasons, flanker turned centre Ben Frankland, has left the club.

Frankland has joined wealthy Darlington Mowden Park, so he can continue plying his trade in National Division One.

Also off to Darlington is influential flanker Matty Charters, as Tynedale face the unavoidable consequences of their relegation last season.

It seems inevitable that more players will also head for the exit rather than ply their trade in Division Two North.

Fans fear that the symbiotic link with Newcastle Falcons, which has served both clubs so well over the years, could be broken.

Dual registered Falcons fringe players may choose to hone their skills at a higher level, but it is understood that talks are continuing with both the Falcons and individual players.
