TYNEDALE Raiders crashed to their first defeat of the season as they welcomed main rivals Blaydon Georgians to Corbridge.

With the game counting in both the the North Second Team League and Northumberland Candy League, it was the visitors from Crow Trees who were the happiest of the two XVs as they returned with a 54-4 victory.

It was a day to forget for Tynedale who were battered in some horrid weather conditions, Blaydon maintaining their 100 per cent record in the Candy League as they ended their hosts’ winning run. On a day when there were few high points for Tyne, Richie Gledson battled over for a consolation try to avoid a complete whitewash.
