WITH just five games left in the season, Tynedale go into their penultimate “home”  game against Otley tomorrow at Kingston Park with a five point cushion between themselves and the drop zone.

The superb win over fancied Stourbridge last time out provided a timely boost to their survival hopes, but similar dedication will be required tomorrow against the Yorkshiremen, who currently lie fifth in North Division Two.

Tynedale won the reverse fixture at Otley 13-12 at the end of November in foul conditions on a heavy pitch.

Since the turn of the year, Otley have won six and lost four, but are on a good run at the moment, losing only narrowly to the top two,  Sedgley Park and Macclesfield, by conceding tries in the dying seconds.

The game kicks off at 3pm, but the real key to survival comes in the next home game on April 16, when Sandal are the visitors to Kingston Park.

The Wakefield side have lost their last six games,  including  an 83-27 trouncing at Sedgley Park last weekend, and victory over them should make Tynedale‘s safe.
