COMMITTEE members are being sought to prevent one of the country’s most remote rugby clubs going out of existence.

Border Park, in Kielder, is looking to hold a number of friendly fixtures on Sunday afternoons to save the club from going under.

While players have already been found to contest the games, the club need volunteers to form a committee otherwise it will have to call it a day.

Tynedale players David Batey and Jamie Dixon, both of whom hail from the North Tyne, are bringing people together to meet the RFU’s guidelines that 12 fixtures have to be fulfilled to keep hold of its status.

A public meeting to discuss taking Border Park forward will take place at the Blackcock Inn, Falstone, on Monday evening at 8pm.
