In the latest crop of players scratch man Andy Scrimshaw won his first senior county cap this season, plays for North of England boys and competes regularly in national events.
Two other Prudhoe juniors, Tom Rowland, now close to one handicap and another scratch golfer, Dan Shevill, have already been adding a lot of silverware for themselves and the club this season.
Along the way, it seems the pair have developed a highly competitive but friendly rivalry in an effort to see who can win the most tournaments during 2009.
In the Junior Matchplay Championship at Wallsend in May, Tom missed the play-off for the final qualifying place by one shot.
Dan qualified comfortably just three shots behind top qualifier, Ponteland's two handicapper, Richard Robson-Crosby.
Both players had comfortable paths to the final and, in a strong wind which suited Dan's game better, he beat Richard 4 and 3.
But the Junior Strokeplay Championship at Northumberland in June provided a reversal of fortunes.
This wasn't evident after the first round where Dan's first round 73 put him just one shot behind leader Nicky Maddison and two shots ahead of Tom.
In the second round however, Tom's putter warmed up at last as he slotted seven birdies in a four under par round of 68 and beat the City's Nicky Maddison on a count back.
Dan's 74 saw him finish in a creditable fourth place.
As a result of their wins, both players will receive invites to Champion of Champions tournament at Slaley Hall on September 6.
The pair have also been performing well in other high profile tournaments this season.
In the Faldo Series UK Championship at the difficult Ganton course in April, Tom fired two rounds of 74 to finish second in the under 16 category and just miss out on a place in the grand final in Brazil.
To add to his frustration, his score would have won the Under 21 group!
However, with the standard scratch lifted to 74 in both rounds, he did at least have the consolation of a few points off his handicap.
Dan, meanwhile was having more success when he fought off a field of top class players to win the prestigious Newbiggin Tankard.
Scores of 68 and 70 for a six under par 138 and a two shot win over City's Simon Lee.
Tom, however, was not far behind with rounds of 71 and 72 for sixth place to win the best net prize.
Another Prudhoe player, James Curry, tied with Craig Penny of Morpeth with a three under par total of 141.
The Newbiggin tournament is part of the ZFL Golf Order of Merit 'Green Jacket' series which has made a welcome return after an absence of a few years and attracts top players from all over the North.
As a result of his win, former U14 Scottish Strokeplay Champion Dan now lies in fourth place in the series after just three of the 10 events.
James Curry is 13th and Tom 19th.
Tom and Dan are regular team mates in Prudhoe's League teams.
The 'Home of Champions' club is currently lying second in the Newcastle and District League, in its bid to defendthe title, and are joint leaders in the Hadrian League with defending champions, Hexham.
