Having shocked the county to win the Northumberland League Division One title, the women went on to secure the county cup with two fantastic victories in a three-way final.
They started with a convincing 23-8 success over Medics, of Newcastle University, before clinching the cash prize by edging their way to a 15-9 triumph over Winlaton.
The rise to the top is a remarkable success story for Tynedale as they were close to folding in 2015 after slipping into Division Two. However, an influx of players and the addition of coach Lesley Woodhouse has transformed their fortunes signifcantly.
After a dominant winter league season, Tynedale are now looking to replicate their success in the outdoor summer league.
Woodhouse said: “It just keeps getting better and we get the fixtures for the summer league today, so we’re looking forward to that.
“We want to win the summer league now; that’s our goal.
“I think that other teams are going to come out fighting as they will want to beat us now, so the games are going to be harder.
“We’re all going bowling on Friday night to celebrate our successful winter league, and then it’s back to it next week to prepare for the summer league.”
