AS the curtain falls on another season of cyclo cross, the district looks set to produce a number of North-East champions.
Tynedale has four riders currently leading their respective categories in the Cyclo-Cross North East series, with all members of the successful Derwentside Cycling Club.
Tomorrow (07/02) will see the 13th and final round held at Gateshead International Stadium, with Fin Robertson (junior men) and Oliver Draffan (U16 boys), both pupils at Hexham’s Queen Elizabeth High School, in pole position to retain their crowns from last year.
Twelve-year-old Roisin Lally, a pupil at St Joseph‘s Middle School, Hexham, is leading the U14 girls’ category ahead of tomorrow‘s decider.
Meanwhile, Halton resident Karen Robertson is topping the female veteran 40’s class, closely followed by fellow Tynedaler Lucy Siddle, who rides for Allen Valley Velo.
