TYNEDALE Ladies' impressive finishing earned them a second successive victory.

After the 9-0 demolition of Medics III the week before, Tynedale were made to work a lot harder by Whitley Bay IV despite what the 5-1 scoreline suggests.

They had to absorb a lot of pressure throughout the first half as Whitley Bay team pressed forward, the opening goal looking like it was just around the corner.

However, the Tyne ladies worked hard in defence with Eleanor Pearson and Katy Brown marking and tackling solidly, and Clara Hueschar and Lily Hextall battling hard to create some forward momentum.

It was against the run of play that Tynedale broke free with a carefully dissected pass allowing Sophie Darling to surge upfield. She then skilfully cut the ball back for youngster Lizzie Scott find the opener.

Tynedale were back under pressure with Bay earning a host of penalty corners, goalkeeper Nicky Baguley putting in a player of the match performance with a string of excellent saves.

Having weather the storm, Immie Pearson scored Tynedale's second as the ball arrived at the right post for her to tuck it away.

After some tactical observations were made during the half time break, Tynedale were more settled and composed in the second half.

And they went on to find three further goals with Esme Gallagher scoring from a direct strike and Sue Crawford from a low short corner flick.

Youngster Annie Anderson rounded off the scoring late on, a clinical finish taking the final score to 5-1.

It was a great way to follow up the 9-0 victory which saw Sophie Darling hit four excellent goals.

Sue Crawford and Immie Pearson scored two each, with Annie Anderson again getting one.

Tynedale lie second in Northumberland B League after two wins from their first three games, going down narrowly 5-3 to Morpeth III on the opening day.

Tynedale's first team put in a good display but ended up on the losing side, going down 3-1 to Morpeth despite Tom Cant registering.
