WHILE Sir Mo Farah was claiming an historic fourth consecutive Great North Run title, a Prudhoe runner was not too far behind.

Terry Scott, a member of Tyne Bridge Harriers, claimed a top 50 finish as his fantastic time of one hour, 12 minutes and 35 seconds saw him cross the finishing line in the world famous event in 42nd place from a record total of 43,127 finishers.

Scott missed the event last year due to representing England in the British Masters International 10K Road Race, but he was back this year to reclaim his crown as Tynedale's fastest runner, an accolade he won two years in a row in 2014 and 2015.

While he recorded a faster time in the York Brass Monkey Half Marathon in January, his time at the weekend was a personal best around the GNR course.

He even finished in time to get a quick selfie with man of he moment, and four-time Olympic champion, Sir Mo, who completed the 13.1 miles in one hour and six seconds!
