PUPILS at a Hexham school signed off a remarkably successful sporting season.
Children at St Joseph's Middle have enjoyed numerous successes in a variety of sport, making it an unprecedented year for the school.
On the football field, both the boys' and girls' teams won the West Tyne Leagues, with the girls also winning the small sided football competition.
The U13 boys' and girls' volleyball teams qualified for the Northumberland School Games as champions of Tynedale, with the girls taking gold and boys earning silver at the county event.
In the sports hall athletics, the U13 boys became county champions, as they did too at the county cricket competition at Stocksfield.
The school triumphed elsewhere too with the U13 boys' becoming North-East champions at the team cross country event at Gateshead International Stadium.
The school also produced individual county champions with James Lavin claiming the 80m title and Sebastian Kilby the U13 Northumberland table tennis championship, going on to compete in the national final in Wolverhampton.
PE teacher Richard Secker said: "I am very proud of all of the fantastic sporting achievements that pupils have had this year at St Joseph's.
"The pupils have demonstrated excellent teamwork and have been a credit to themselves, and their school."
