PICTURED are two of the South Northumberland Pony Club teams were impressed at the recent national Pony Club Championships, in Cheshire.

The junior mounted games team of Ella Pigg (9), Grace Symons (10), Will Bailey (10), Emily Butts (9) and Tessa Stephenson (10) who capped off another fantastic year with 12th place in the national finals.

They started the year with a fantastic win at the Hurworth friendly competition, which was followed by another successful trip to Cleveland.

In the Area 2 competition, they came second by just one point to Morpeth to qualify them for the Northern Zone final in Scotland where they performed greatly to qualify for the national championships.

In the final of 24 teams, they did extremely well to achieve third in the tack and turnout, and 12th place in the national competition.

Team manager Lisa Quinn said: β€œβ€˜The team are a credit to our club. They have trained and competed under the most testing circumstances.”

The girls put in a brilliant all-round display to claim a club high of ninth, with Emi managing a top 10 finish in the individual competition.
