HUNDREDS of runners will return to the Tyne Valley’s roads for one of its most popular races.

The Tynedale 10K, organised by Tynedale Harriers, will be held on Tuesday evening, from 7.30pm, with participants starting at Ovington and moving through Wylam and Low Prudhoe’s Riverside Country Park before ending at Ovingham Middle School, where pie and peas await.

Last year, the race attracted close to 400 runners and it is estimated similar numbers will be out on the roads next week.

To accommodate the run, rolling road closures will be in place between Ovington and Ovingham, and Ovingham and Wylam, as the race progresses.

Online entries will remain open until Sunday evening, with proceeds from the event supporting Tynedale Harriers, particularly its active junior section.
