HOLD on to your seats, an explosive spectacle is in store for wrestling fans in the region.

For Cumbria-based company Target Wrestling is bringing its successful show back to Haltwhistle by popular demand, tickets for the June 19 show already close to sell out.

The professional wrestling company put on a show at the town’s leisure centre in 2014, and the popularity of the event has forced organisers to return – but this time on a much larger scale.

Target’s promoter, and MC on the evening, Ryan Devlin, said: “We run shows at Cumbria and in the south of Scotland on a regular basis, and we are trying to bring it further into the North-East.

“We did a show in Haltwhistle a couple of years ago and they’ve been asking us to come back, so we have listened to our fans.

“I didn’t expect it to be as popular as it was, but we had people coming from Hexham and Newcastle, as well as Carlisle where we have a core fan base, and this event will be much bigger than the last time. The way the ticket sales are going, it should be pretty huge and we’ve already sold as many as we did at our last event.”

The series of shows have won Target many fans over the years, with a stock of professional wrestlers gaining reputations for themselves.

Following entertaining storylines, the wrestlers play their part in putting on a great show for the audience.

Ryan said: “What people can expect is an exciting brand of sport and entertainment, and it is something that is suitable for the whole family whether they be three-years-old or 90. Our shows are full of fast packed action, and it’s pandemonium!

“It’s just like what you see on Sky Sports with WWE, and it’s the best night of entertainment you can find in the area.

“There will be a full six-match card during the hour-and-a-half show, and will include fan’s favourite Medallion and the villain of the pack Shady Nattrass. One thing we pride ourselves on is that it is a professional show, and that it is a family show with all ages welcomed with children helping to create the fantastic atmosphere.”

Doors open at 6pm for a 6.30pm start, and tickets can be purchased from Haltwhistle Swimming and Leisure Centre. As it clashes with Father’s Day, any children accompanied by their father will receive an A3 poster of the wrestlers, to be signed on the night.
