Owen Richardson (14) has been plagued with injuries for the past four months, but is looking in good shape ahead of the hotly anticipated bout with Tyler Sharp, on November 18.
The two fighters, regarded as the country’s best two at -60kg, will meet for the WKA Bitish Championship in Kent. They have never met but have been scheduled to twice, but injuries to either fighter has forced the postponement.
Now, they will go head-to-head in what promises to be a brilliant contest.
Owen’s fight manager at Aiki Kickboxing, Ross Holliday, said: “These are the two best fighters in that weight division, and they will battle it out and it will be hard for both of them.”
To warm up for the fight, Owen has been matched with tough opponent Finlay Jacks during the Cyclone 5 event in Essex this weekend.
Ross said: “He is raring to go, and he will come down and show what he can do.
“He’s had a tough time with injuries in the past four to six months, but he is in good condition.”
