MAXIMUM points in their final league game would see Newton B miss out on the Division Two crown by just a point.
They are due to travel to North East Chinese Association C this weekend to bring their Northumbria League campaign to a successful end, claiming the runner-up spot just ahead of Tyne Valley rivals Matfen B .
Matfen C have finished down in eighth.
Riding Mill A have claimed second spot in Division One, with their B team in seventh just one spot off Matfen A .
Newton C have finished the season in third in Division Four, with Whitley Chapel sixth and Matfen D ninth in the league above.
Despite forfeiting their final game, Newton A have finished out of the bottom two in the Premier Division as they end the campaign in ninth place.
