They went 11 points clear of their second placed guests courtesy of the 8-2 victory, with John Russell and Graeme Bell winning all three of their singles.

Matfen Senators remained in third spot in Division Two slipping up in their home game with Old England Fatts. Alex Holliday starred for Matfen as he earned all his side’s points in the 7-3 reverse.
While they remain in the hunt for their first win of the season, results are improving for Matfen Cohorts in Division Two as Mark Perrin won two games in the 8-2 loss to Byker D.
Meanwhile, Matfen Whitley Chapel endured a tough trip to Brandon Anacondas as they returned with a 10-0 defeat.
Both Newton A and Newton B are through to round three of the KO Cup, the B team defeating Cramlington Jaguars 5-2 while Byker B conceded against the A team.
