TYNEDALE‘S iconic jelly race will be run from a new venue for the first time.

The Tynedale 10 Mile Jelly Road Race, organised by Tynedale Harriers, will start and finish at Hexham Racecourse on Sunday morning after moving from its traditional route from Hexham to Ovingham.

The Harriers are delighted with the venue, the route through Hexhamshire a challenging and undulating one for competitors.

But the 500 competitors expected on the morning will enjoy the spectacular views the roads around the racecourse will throw up.

The race starts at 11am and there will be some road closures in place around the racecourse and at Dipton Mill from 10.50am until 11.30am.

The last of the runners are expected to finish at 2pm, and all competitors will return to the racecourse for sandwiches and jelly.
