Tynedale Ladies, previously known as Hexham Ladies, have new kits as part of the revamp.
The club, which trains at Haydon Bridge High School every Tuesday evening during term time, hopes the new name will appeal to more players.
Coach Lesley Woodhouse, who was named the Northumberland Club Coach of the year last season, said: “We hope the name change will encourage more players from around the region to think of it as their club, and not just for Hexham players.”
The team started the winter season well with a 32-18 victory over Morpeth A in their opening county game.
The club has increased their training sessions from 7pm to 9pm, with the first hour concentrating on fun and fitness before an hour of skills and tactics.
