With thanks to a grant supported by Northumberland County Councillor Derek Kennedy, an automatic tennis ball machine has been purchased for fellow members of Tynedale Tennis Club to enjoy.
The machine has been acquired to allow individuals to practise at their own leisure, while it should prove useful in coaching sessions when used as part of structured routines or during fun exercises.
Coun. Kennedy said: “The ball machine is a great asset for the club. It will provide members of all ages with the opportunity to enhance their skills and all-round game, and I expect it to be particularly popular among the club’s youngsters.”
The new machine arrived in time for the club’s open day on Sunday, with people invited to come along and have a hit between 1pm and 4pm.
