FINAL preparations are underway for the returning Mestival which is on course to be bigger than last year’s inaugural event.

With five weeks to go, organisers are putting the finishing touches to the programme of obstacle races, live music and food and drink, all to be hosted in the grounds of historic Hesleyside Hall on Saturday, July 29.

Making its debut in 2016, Mestival challenged participants with mud-laden obstacle courses which took participants on an adventure around the grand grounds of Hesleyside.

Organised by Events of the North, in partnership with Hesleyside owners William and Anna Charlton, the 10K race proved so popular that a 5K option is being introduced this year.

DomFounded, a local organisation set up in memory of Great Whittington’s Dom Abraham who died suddenly of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome in 2014, has been chosen as the event’s official charity partner.
