HEXHAM business Fentimans has announced it will sponsor the upcoming Cyclone Festival of Cycling, which brings hundreds of cyclists to Tynedale.

The beverage manufacturer has announced it will sponsor the Queen of the Mountain prize as part of the women’s Curlew Cup on Sunday, June 18, which takes place in and around the village of Stamfordham.

In addition, the company will also supply samples of its botanically brewed drinks for participants’ goody bags in the festival’s challenge rides and its Tyne 6 Bridges Leisure Rides.

Richard Cooper, of Fentimans, said “As a North-Eastern company, Fentimans is proud to be involved with the Cyclone Festival of Cycling, and in particular sponsorship of the Queen of the Mountain competition as part of the Curlew Cup. “We are pleased to support a local event which benefits community causes and the regional economy.”

The Curlew Cup shares the limelight with the men’s Beaumont Trophy, the culmination of the festival.
