TEENAGE brothers have written their names into the history books at Ponteland Tennis Club.

For Christopher (17) and Marcus (13) Jeffrey, both pupils at the town’s high school, will have their names inscribed on the honours board after clinching the men’s doubles championship at the club’s closed tournament.

And that was just the tip of the iceberg as the talented siblings swept the board by winning every competition they entered, Chris leaving with four trophies and Marcus two.

As well as going on the honours board for the doubles win, Chris’ name will appear twice more after success in the men’s singles and the mixed doubles with partner Kirstin McLeod.

He also left with the trophy for triumphing in the U18 singles.

Marcus went on to add the U14 boys’ title to the doubles championship, rounding off an excellent day for the hard working teenagers.

Their mother Rhoda said: “They have done so well and it was such a long day for them playing all those games on the same day.”
