HEXHAM’S second team were on top form as they defeated Northern Juniors in Division Four of the Northumbria Squash League.
Winning 4-1 in games, they picked up 18 league points during the fantastic display.
Greg van Hinsbergh got them under way and had a tussle with his opponent as he had to fight back from going two games down to take it 3-2 (13-15, 12-15, 15-8, 15-7, 15-7).
The scores were level as Guy Jepson went down 3-1 despite taking the first game (15-13, 7-15, 7-15, 12-15).
But Hexham stepped things up and won the remaining three matches, Jon Steward ending with a 3-1 win (15-12, 15-9, 14-15, 15-5).
Ian Donkin (15-14, 15-5, 15-11) and Tim Blake (15-5, 15-5, 15-9) never dropped a game as they both won their matches 3-0.
