HEXHAM brought a good season in Division Two to a winning conclusion.

Three straight victories in February was followed up by two consecutive defeats, but they bounced back with a thumping 4-1 (19-5) victory over Westoe II on the final day.

Jason Toogood was up against top opponent Lee Anderson but led 2-0 before losing 2-3 (12-15, 4-5, 15-10, 15-13, 15-8).

Tom Ewen was involved in a similarly close encounter but edged out Norman Broomfield 3-2 (15-13, 7-15, 15-13, 14-15, 15-13) in a real ding-dong battle.

Damon Watts (15-10, 15-8, 15-11), Paul Satow (15-13, 15-10, 15-3) and John Palmer (15-11, 15-6, 15-8) then made sure Hexham ended on a high with 3-0 victories. The win moved them up to third in the table, but they are likely to finish the season in fourth as Primrose were set to play their final game this week.

Hexham II have two games to improve on their fifth position in Division Four after falling to two defeats, to Boldon (2-3; 9-16) and Sunderland III (1-4; 6-19).
