A SECOND successive 3-2 victory helped Hexham move up to fourth in Division Two.

Following up on their victory over Northern Juniors, the five-man team were again involved in a close-fought game with Consett before they took the outright victory at 17-7.

Jason Toogood proved too good for opponent John Philp and recorded a relatively straight forward 3-0 victory (15-14, 15-7, 15-9).

Paul Satow enjoyed victory by the same scoreline when he came up against Richard Ridley (15-14, 15-7, 15-4). Securing the triumph for Hexham was the experienced Adrian Alderton as he defeated Matt Tellyn 3-1 (15-13, 6-15, 15-8, 15-13).

Damon Watts was involved in a five-game thriller with Graham Madge but just lost out 2-3 (10-15, 15-11, 12-15, 15-13, 14-15), while Andrew Wilkinson earned one point in his 1-3 reversal to Lee Cranston (10-15, 15-8, 8-15, 15-11).

Hexham were looking to make it three wins on the bounce when they welcomed bottom of the table Chester-le-Street II in midweek.

Hexham III were only able to field a three-man team for their trip to Alnwick II in Division Seven, losing 1-4 as a result.

Already two points down as they forfeited two match-ups, they battled hard but were unable to bring it round.

Edward Edwardson did earn his side some much needed points in the 5-17 loss, beating Steven Taylor 3-0 (15-12, 15-14, 15-9).

Tim Anderson went down 1-3 to Alan Morgan despite winning the first game (15-11, 5-15, 6-15, 14-15), while Dave Robson took the second game against Bob Creswell but also lost 1-3 (5-15, 15-11, 1-15, 9-15). Hexham are next in action a week on Saturday.
