HAYDON Bridge High School's senior boys' team brought home the gold from the recent Tyneside Schools Athletics Championships.

The team of Ryan Bousfield, Daniel Partington, Ewen Koranteng and Daniel Heppell earned a number of victories at the Monkton Stadium, capping a great day for the Tynedale school.

In addition to gold in the 4x 100m relay team, Daniel Heppell won the javelin, Daniel Partington triumphed in the long jump and high jump, Ryan in the 1500m and 400m and Ewen in the shot putt to go with his sliver in the 200m and bronze in the 100m.

Daniel Partington's winning jump of 1.65m equalled Haydon Bridge's long-standing school record for the sixth form high jump.

In the intermediate competition, Haydon Bridge were sixth overall with stand-out performances coming from Ethan Hill (5.22m) in the long jump and Liam Oliver (58.6) in the 400m.
