HEXHAM Golf Club‘s senior team continued their dominance as they repeated a feat last achieved in the early 1980s.

Their Reivers team have won the Northumberland Senior Members Golf League for the fourth consecutive year, losing just once out of 12 games to finish six points ahead.

In the final medal at Hexham, Division One was won by Nicholas Bowman (70-6-64). Ian Robinson (77-10-67) was second and Michael Inglis (75-6-69) third. Division Two was won by Robert Bailey (84-16-69) on countback from Guy Beauchamp (87-18-69).

The Gascoigne Cup Medals Championship was won by Joseph Oliver (79-5-74), ahead of Philip Broadhurst (98-22-76) who was second and David Arthur (90-13-77) third.

With the best four gross scores from seven rounds throughout the season, the club’s men‘s vice captain Ian Richardson (77, 76, 73, 75) won the Captain’s Cup.

The ladies‘ Jennifer Stobbs Trophy was won by Gillian Banks (38), with Sue Shaw Toomey (37) and Joan Dinning (35) next up.
