With the first race at the upcoming Hexham Racecourse meeting off at 1.50pm, with the last at 4.45pm, a great afternoon of action is promised. There are 93 horses entered with a large number coming from southern trainers, including champion trainer Paul Nicholls and David Pipe.
The going is officially described as good and, as little rain is forecast, it is expected to remain the same. There will be two courtesy buses provided as usual, the first leaving Hexham railway station at 12.38pm followed by one from the bus station at 12.45pm.
Friday’s meeting follows the season opening twilight fixture at Yarridge Heights, a good crowd enjoying the action. The highlight came in the second race as the Will Young-trained Formidableoppoenent, ridden by Sean Quinlan, edged runner-up Dun Faw Good, trained by Jimmy Walton, by just a nose.
