KEVIN Honeybell and Jo Blackburn left with the silverware in Stocksfield’s mixed sex Hunter Trophies contest.

The pair’s score of 81-12.5-68.5 saw them to first place, seeing off the challenge of Roger and Wendy Jones (85-15-70) and third placed David Mole and Judith Wilson (92-19.5-72.5).

Roger Jones (77-10-67) again was pipped for the honours when Clive Rogerson (76-10-66) claimed top spot in Division One of the May Medal. Jones did, however, edge out John Grey (79-12-67) on countback.

David Scullen (85-18-67) won Division Two, ahead of Josh Ward (84-16-68) and Andrew Martin (90-20-70).

In the latest Fred Punshon competition, Kevin Nicholson (40) triumphed ahead of Robin Stimpson (39) and David Christer (37).

The Tony Flannery cup went to Ian Johnson (40), who finished ahead of Dick Forth (39) and Martyn Henderson (38).

A field of 36 players contested the Lee Cup at Tynedale hoping to make the top eight to confirm their place in the knockout matchplay stages.

The successful players, in order, were Jeff Shield (69), Trevor Hodge (69), Brendan Murphy (69), Graeme Gilhesphy (69), Graeme Halkerston (70), Mark Armstrong (70), Martin Lamb (71) and Gordon Simpson (71).

Michael King (69-3-66) claimed the Curry Cup at Bellingham , as he saw off close competition from teenager Jack Johnstone (71-4-67) and captain Michael Davison (76-9-67).

Johnstone (34) was again runner-up in the latest Stableford Cup qualifier as he was sandwiched in between winner Gary Shaw (36) and Brian Hardon (33).

However, the North of England junior did enjoy success in the preceding qualifer as his score of 36 saw him edge out Jim Henderson (36) on countback. Johnny Armstrong (34) was third.

The duo of Pat Hignett and Pat Batey (33) triumphed in the Ladies Greensomes, finishing ahead of second placed Jo Dickson and Shirley Carruthers (31) and third placed Sue Irving and Jan Davies (31).

Jan was crowned the winner of the nine-hole competition with 19 points.

Alan Rutherford (76-6-70) was celebrating success at Alston Moor as he triumphed in the Bennet Cup. Michael Currah (83-12-71) was second and Peter Richardson (84-12-72) third.

The club’s Tom Mason Memorial Trophy went to Paul Rymer (37), ahead of Chris Bell (35) and Stephen Morris (34).

Anne Parkin (28) won the Ladies’ Monty ahead of Sandra MacKenzie (26) and Tania Rymer (24).
