A FULL round of West Tyne League games resulted in defeats for all the Hexham teams.

Hexham House B travelled to Allendale and, while the four rinks were shared, Allen Valley earned the bonus points thanks to a 63-60 shots win.

The result at Hexham Abbey wasn’t so close, Hexham House A going down to Haltwhistle 6-1 on points and by 16 shots.

Elvaston had an almost identical shots deficit at Prudhoe but fared even worse, losing all rinks, albeit not by too many, and suffering a rare 7-0 defeat.

Things went much better for Elvaston in the Northumberland Nines League, where they achieved the first win in many years against Backworth.

The shots difference was very small, only six over the three rinks, but all three rinks were won, meaning an 8-0 victory against notable opponents.

The ladies then went to Gosforth and won all three rinks of their Collins and Shipley match to bounce back from their disappointing defeat on the opening day.
