IT may have been the hottest day of the year, but runners from all over the North streamed into Ovington on Wednesday night for the popular Tynedale 10km race.

The race started at Ovington and finished in the Countryside Park at Low Prudhoe, before runners were able to tuck into the traditional pie ‘n peas supper at Ovingham Middle School.

It proved a good day for Morpeth Harriers, with Ian Harding winning the men’s race in fine style, with Morpeth club mate Emma Holt winning the ladies‘ event.
